Main 64 WlffOOI To the Editor: Dear Sir 1 have made a discovery this summer that will be quite valuable to the fruit growers and orchardists of Grande Round valley, if ynu would be so ki.-d as to give it space in your paper, so all can be ready by next summer to exterminate me coaung motn in good earnest. It is simple and costs near nothing and very little labor, and is a sure end dead shot to the moth. Take a tin can. 10x12 or 12x16. eight or ten inches deep, or a coal oil can cut otr will answer, paint the bottom of it with some black paint, and when dry fll up to about 4 inches witi clear water and put it out under an apple tree and you have a trap that will catch every codling moth that will come near it. The idea is this: In painting the bottom I of the can you form something like a mir ror and they see the leaves and limbs of the tree and drop in it ard never get out 1 ciugub uuiiuiou ana nunareas of tnem, genuine codling moths. Catch the mother and there will be no young. With thi practice, in five years there will be no more codling moths. Yours, L. H. RUMBLHART. He keeps out of step when walking with you. He puts his hat on in salutation. He whitens his boots, instead of black ening them. He rides with his heels in his stirrups instead of his toes. His compass points south. His women folks are often seen in trousers, accompanied by men in gowns, Often he throws away the fruit of the melon and eats the seeds. He laughs on receiving bad news (This is to deceive evil spirits.) His left hand is the place of honor. He savs west-north, instead of north west, and sixths-four, instead of four sixths. His favorite present to his parents is a coffin. He faces the bow when rowing a boat His mourning color is white. The children of a Chinese school study out loud. A. B.
