In this state the people are "It" and if they think they would be satisfied with Jonathan Bourne as their representative in the Senate they surely should have the opportunity to test their judgement. Last year wood to the value of nearly $18,000,000 was used in the manufact ure of wood pulp, an industry wh'ch has developed rapidly in recent years. This is brought out in a circular just issued by the forest service of the department o agriculture, which shows that within the space of five years there has been an in crease of 53 '' in the amount of wood used for this purpose. Spruce is the wood most utilized, but heavy drafts are also made upon such timber as hemlock, pine, balsam, poruiarand Cottonwood. Mean j while.
