Holman. living several miles north of
town, reports having seen the largest
American eagle at his horn Sunday that
he ever saw and states that th bird must
havs measured 7 to 8 feet from tip to
tip.
The eagle hovsred over th farm for
several rhinutes, and then suddenly
swooped down on a large gander and
killed it. Mr. Holman fired a voiley of
bird shot at the eagle and then ran into
the house for his Winchester, with which
he took another shot, but failed to hit the
bird, which (scaped without its prizo.
