Unusual intsrast attach to th annual cruis of th Nsw York Yacht Club, which will start from Glen Covs tomorrow, because it will com prise two important races, the Aitor Cup race on August 7, and ths race for the King's Cup, donated by King Edward, on the following day. Both these races will be sailed off Newport The squadron, which assembled at th place of rendezvous, off Glen Cove, today, is unusually large and includes soma of the smartest and swiftest yachts in this part of the country. The program for to day includes only the usual preliminaries far the cruis. and in th evening a recap tion on the Commodore's flagship. To' morrow the squadron will sail for Morris' Cove, on Saturday from Morris' Cove to New London. The squadron will spend Sunday at New London and on Monday will continue its run to Newport ' On T....H.V tha Anr finn races will be sailed off Newport and on the following day the King's Cup race. The smaller boats will have a race in Narragansett Bay. In th evening of that day there will be a grand illumination. On Thurs day the squadron will run to Vineyard Haven, where, in the following day th races forth Owl and Gamacock colors will be sailed. On Saturday th squad ron will return to Newport where it will be disbanded. If the conditions are fav orable, some minor special events may be added to th program of th cruis. mm 'S VICTORY IS CELEBRATED (Scrlpp New Association) Fremont O., August 2. The ninety third anniversary of Gen. Groghans victory will be celebrated this afternoon in an elaborate manner on the sit of the old Fort Stevenson. Governor Harris had been invited to attend the celebration, but was compelled to decline the invitation, out -Adjutant ueneral Hughes and a number of other state officials have ar rived her and will be present at th ex ercises. The Sixth regiment Ohio Na tional Guard, located in this neighborhood will lend a military backgiound to the celebration. , The battle the anniversary of which is celebrated today was one of the decisive battles of '.he war of 1812, preceding by about thirty days Perry's victory on Lake Erie, in 1813. in which th British com bined their forces with the Indians. After the war General Groghan went south and died in New Orleans from cholera. Some time ecro. through the efforts of Col. Hayes and the Daughters of the American Rev olution the remains were removed to the sit of Fort Stevenson, which he defei ded and were buried on the site of th fort On of th features of this afternoon's celebration will be the re-burial of Gen.
