An ord nance granting a franchise and right of way to the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company upon and along Marion Street in the City of La Grande. Oregon. The City of La Grande does ordain as Follows: Seotion I. It is hereby ordained and ordered that the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company, a private corpora tion, organized, existing and doing busi ness under and by virtue or the laws of the State of Oregtn, mi its successors in interests' shall have a perpetual fran chise and right of wa upon and along Marion Street in the Ci.y of La Grande Oregon, ' from the intersection of said Street with the r'ght of way of said Rail road Company in said City, extending North the entire length of said Stivet as now laid out, platted aud dedicated to public use. Section 2. The franchise and right of way shall be for the purpose of construct ing and operating along and upon said street er any portion thereof, a roadbed and railway of standard gauge in width, and that over and upon said road-bed and road-way all kinds and classes of freight and passengers may be transport ed and keeping said railway in proper repair. Seotion 3. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the 1st day of Augjst, 1906, and shall be published in one issue of the Evening Observer.
