EINAL PRACTICES. The fir department boys were out last evening practicing their staunts for the Fourth. They limited the work to starting and sprin ing, and as a final wind-up of the evening' work, thy ran the full 200 yards and strung 300 feet of hose. The time, though not announc ed was creditable. The boy have work ed hard and should win their share of the races tomorrow. A hose cart, es pecially adapted for this purpose arrived from Walla Walla last night and will be used in the races. A LITTLE CIRLS CONCEPTION : The following i a true story, vouched for by Chas. Noyes, who give his person al guarantee that it really occured at the Stevenson saw mill. It simply tends to show that loggers are the ; came the world over and that they are considered in a class to themselves by all who know them. ' It seems that there had been a pay day and the usual fight and that the same was witnessed by a little girl. She described the altercation to her mother in the following graphic manner. ' "O mamma, you should have seen the fight down the street. There was a fight between a logger and a man and the gentleman who runs the saloon rushed ut and stopped them". It is ever thus. Deaths from Appendicitis decrease in the same raJo that, the use of Dr. King's New Life Pill increases. They save you from danger and bring quick and painlews releaee from consti pation and the ' ills growing out of it Strength and vigor always follow their use.. Guaranteed by Nrwlin Druo 25c.
