July 5 The in habiants of Socprry are all in a state of great excitement on account of a five distinct earthquake shocks which occured Monday evening. There was no loss of life, but nearly every window in the city was shattered. The people fear other shocks. His counsel made a strong plea for an early trial, declaring that Thaw was suf fering from his confinement ir. the tombs and that if he remained there three months that he would die. Prosecuting Attorney Jerome reiterated his statement that Thaw must take hi. turn with the other prisoners. The defense is still making every effort to find proof that White endeavored to force his attention upon Mrs, Thaw So far no legal proof ha. been found.
