Topeka, Kas., May 22. The military authorities at Fort Riley, Kas., are entirely satisfied with the decision of the Treasury, so much in their behalf, aa to require of them no payment to a civil officer who arrested a man on the supposition that 1 was a deserter. The latter turned out to be an ex-sold it r, and the civil officer c aimed a reward or some compensation, or at least reimbursement of expenses, because the telegram of instructions to him from Fort Riley contained th words 'usual reward."
