Atwell has brought suit against Major General Grer.ville V. Dodge for the recovery of $25,000, which, te complaintant claims, is due him as commission. Shortly after the victory of Admiral Dewey at Manila Bay, on May I, 1893. and after the re turn of Admiral Dewey and his fleet, Mr. Atwell proposed to to officials of Nor wich University that a fund be raised a a memorial to the admiral and his achieve ment Norwich University was the school at which Admiral Dewey received his early training. It was formerly at Nor iuh Vii,"'J.ii.,;uttrr' to Northfield, VU According to the com plaint, the proposition of Mr. Atwell was THE FUNDAMENTAL TRUTH , ' - The fundamental Osteopathic idea I that the body is a complete institution, made by the Creator with ample facilities for remedying its own ills as long a its structure remains unchanged. Sit with your legs crossed for a half hour. The pressure upon nerves and bloqd vessel which result causes the feet to go Asleep. Pressure is crowding the structures. The feet are forced into a state of incipient ill health. Pressure is the sole cause; and all of us know enough to change posiiiuo. Whenever you thus change your position you are, even if unconsciously, endorsing Osteopathia treatment you art yourself an Osteopath. You remove the pressure and straighten out your leg, giving the blood a chance to pas back and forth naturally and the nerves to act normally, These are precisely the things which the Osteopath does, and upon wnich he de pends for the relief of suffering and the cur of disease. You perhaps do not ee how defied t disease can be similar to the case of your foot when it is "asleep'? Every part of the body, be it remembered, is under the absolute control of nerves and blood vessels of nerves alone, in fact, for the caliber of blood vessels is gov erned by nerves too. . WHERE to mm that he would collect the fund, but was to receive 60 per cent thereof for his time and trouble. This, it is alleged, was ac cepted by the board of trustees, and Mr Atwell, he alleges, was so fortunate as to raise $100,000. Of this amount, it is stated, $50,000 was given by Andrew Carnegie. The complaint alleges that the plaintiff received his allotted fifty per cent com mission on the $50,000 raised, , exclusive of Mr. Carnegie' gift, but hi commission on that gift was denied him. He urged the trustee to comply with the agree ment but, he alleges, thi was refused. For that reason the suit was brought against Gen. Dodge, a president of the hoard of trustee. It is xpected that the suit will be argued on tn Mar caiemmi in the supreme court . TWfti&tl i A. R. (Scrlpps News Association) Chattanooga, Tenn.
