The .work accomplished 'by the La Gande Commercial iClub and the Good Roads Aa - aociation not simply tor a day, ' but will be for all the time. . The Members of the National Good Road Association have ; come and gone, but ( the results of their visit will be lasting and it is hoped that, by the time they visit this county again, there will be a number of mo dern roads visable which will be as monuments testifying to the virtue of the cause in which ; tney labor. It was evident from - the interest taken by our citi zens that we are fully aware of the necessity of good roads, and it is a certainity that within a very short time real scientific road making will take place of the patch up system now in use in this county. jing, the party will divide ant send detachment - back to headquarters for fresh supplier, which will be found on. the route by the returning explor ers, after they have reached the Pole.
