Wt.if. of t!. f, F County Official Paper I'olitical conditions are bo bad ly complicated in tho United States that the voter in at a Iobs to know just "where he in at." With three parties in the field in most of the states, two of them claiming1 to represent the great IJcpublican principles, and with county and state tickets nominal cl by the Ilepublicans before th gn-at Hplit occurred, many peopl art' asking that state and county nominees of the Ilepublican party announce whether they belong to the regular Republican party,-or arc followers of tho Hull Moose It is no more than fair that they do so. If they "are entitled to the 8iiiort of a party by the use of u party name and with all the prestige that gives to one, they hhnuld come out in the open anc iiLilaro themselves. Ihey are either Republicans or they are J!ull Mixwers. If they are fol oers of the great Hull Moow Lemler they have no business on a IJcpublican ticket. If they arc Republicans and expt-ct Republi can Hiipport they should say so. ihe jieoplc are demanding this from all Republican nominees from the oUice of Coroner to 1'mted States Senator. Helens which depend ujton the railroads f.w transporting their goods. We have no terminal rates. If a tlmir mill, for instance, should decide to locate here it would be imK)Stible for them to do so and successfully compete with Port land mills for they would have the difference in freight ii pay from Portland to St. Helens. Tliia means a big thing to any such an industry and we cannot hoe to secure any such until we are able to say to them that the rates are the sams here as at Port land. Terminal rates arc in effect at Rurlington, half way between St. Helens and I'ortland and there is no just reason why we can not get them here. Of course the Hill interests are the promoters and owners of the I'.urlington townsite and they have no interest here, other than to get the business, but if the matter was taken up by the right parties and in the proper way it could very likely be brought about. In any event it is up to St. Helens to make a move. I ) si. I. i'. it . n i,u.-.- Ill ni. IK'IclIH. Mr. Win. Corwin and Avery (u-y. npuan of Houlton killed a three M,int deer Sunday morning.
