Link, of Cioble, svas a visitor to the county seat last Wednesday, air. Link is probably the largest orchardist in Columbia County, haying fifteen acres in apples, twelve acres being of the U- tuous Spitzenburg variety. He is firm in the belief that Columbia can raise as fine Spitzenberg apples as any county in the Stateof Oregon. The apple industry is, of course, in it infancy in this county, but increased interest is being manifested and new orchards are being set out every year. It will not be many years before Columbia County apples acquire stand ing in the markets of the world. Dentist Dr. Rambo will be in Iloul ton Friday and Saturday of euch week. He was born in Ireland, March 17, 1H32, and at the age of thirteen came to the United States, locating in Indiana, where he remained until the age of 22, when he enlisted in the United Slates Army, serving five years. When he was discharged in UUih he went to California, but only remained about one year. Then he came to Oregon, and, aftar a short residence at Scappoose, purchased the farm on which lie lived to the time of hi they play Ridgeficld at Ridgcficld.
