In addition there are thirty-odd thousand dollar, in fractional paper currency in circulation although none has been issued for years. Mr. Gorman, of Maryland, and other prominent Eastern democrat, are "camping on Willie', trail," and the pursuit is becoming more interesting each day. Ths court within the last year has displayed commendable prndenoe in ex punging from the books all claims held against lands for taxes which were con sidered not sure of collection, until at the present time the liens held on lands, amounting to about (22,000, is almost absolutely certain as safe, reliable re sources. Ths fact that many applica tion are each week made to the clerk for the redemption of lands renew, hope that another year or two will witness a cleanup of all delingnent taxes.
