business methods of forcing the payment
of taxes was the only means by which

been made in relieving the county from
the burden, the public stands ready to
applaud the officers.
Ths court within the last year has
displayed commendable prndenoe in ex
punging from the books all claims held
against lands for taxes which were con
sidered not sure of collection, until at
the present time the liens held on lands,
amounting to about (22,000, is almost
absolutely certain as safe, reliable re
sources. Ths fact that many applica
tion are each week made to the clerk
for the redemption of lands renew, hope
that another year or two will witness a
cleanup of all delingnent taxes. These
liens Just about offset the outstanding
