TAFT FOR PRESIDENT The Oregonlan, last Sunday, pub lished opinions gathered from the press of Oregon as to the best and most available candidate for the presidency on the Republican ticket. William H. Taft was the choice of the editors, and the general opinion ot their communities was in favor of Taft. The nominations for presi dent, both on the Republican and Democratic tickets, is, at the present time, a deep mystery. Ordinarily one knew a year or more before the con ventions who would be standard bearers for the respective parties. This year it is different; it is guess work, and since others are guessing the Mist will join in the guessing contest and say that Taft will repre sent the Republicans and that Mc Adoo will be nomlnted by father-in-law Wilson and the balance of the De mocratic party. Oregon has as its guests this week, more than 200 editors from Eastern states. Tho Telegram is telling what Col onel Dlsque did or didn't do. From its account, which seems to be based on facts, Colonel Dlsque should have been awarded something else than a D. M. ,8. Pomona Grange went on record as In favor of the League of Nations.
