BRANCHES OF STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASUO Executive The ASUO Executive is the recognized voice of the UO students and administers over 120 funded ASUO programs. Twenty staff members are hired by the President’s hiring committee after s/he is selected. Positions Available: President/Vice President One-year term ASUO Senate The Student Senate is an 18 member body that is responsible for allocating incidental fees and representing the collective interest of students in all matters considered and acted upon by the University Senate and University Assembly. Positions Available: Academic Senators Seat 10, Journalism, Education, two-year term Seat 11, Undeclared, two-year term (midterm) Seat 12, AAA Majors, two-year term Seat 13, Business Administration two-year term (midterm) Seat 14, Social Science Majors, two-year term Seat 16, General Science Majors, two-year term Seat 17, Graduate/Law Students, two-year term (midterm) Seat 18, Graduate/Law Students, two-year term Associated Students Presidential Advisory Council The objective of this board is to advise the University President on matters affecting the student population and improve student administration communications. Positions Available: One, two-year term One, two-year term (midterm) Student Recreation Center Advisory Board The Board is responsible for the review of policies related to facility use for recreation, user policies, budget matters related to student incidental fees, and the promotion of student recreation needs. Positions Available: Three, two-year terms ASUO Programs Finance Committee The ASUO Programs Finance Committee (PFC) is composed of seven members. The chair of the PFC is chosen from it’s elected members. The PFC hears line item budgets from over 120 ASUO programs and recommends a lump sum budget to the Student Senate for their approval. Positions Available: At-large One, one-year term One, two-year term ASUO Programs Finance Senators Seat 1, one-year term Seat 2, two-year term Erb Memorial Union Board Erb Memorial Union (EMU) Board consists of 15 members and determines the policies and long range plans of the Erb Memorial Student Union. Positions Available: At-large Two, two-year terms One, two-year term (midterm) EMU Board Finance Senators Seat 4, one-year term Seat 5, two-year term Athletic Department Finance Committee The ASUO Athletic Department (ADFC) Finance Committee is responsible for working with the Athletic Department to develop a recommendation for the incidental fee allocation for the Athletic Department.
