Photos by Matt Garton Facing THE BLUES A University music professor finds time between classes to enjoy musical pursuits such as recording and performing J0* pP^ By Jesse Stephenson Entertainment Reporter Many say that talent goes to waste if it isn’t used. Don Latarski is not one who chooses to waste anything. Latarski is a jazz and blues guitarist who is not only talented enough to play in clubs and produce his group’s music CD, as well as write music books about guitar, but he also teaches classes at the University to interested students. “I started playing in 1963 because my cousin was K-X\J XX X l , UUlUiOIVl OU1 U • 1 always hung out with him, and I wanted to find an alternative to sports since I’m not a big per son.” The skills Latarski learned enabled him to become a music instruc tor at the University nine years ago. He gives both individual and group lessons on campus, and he enjoys them both.
