The members of Lincoln Brigade did exactly this. To their surprise, and chagrin of many othor local bands, they were rewarded with a seven-record contract from national recording company Island Records. “They did it all wrong, they had no manager, no lawyer and no connections, but their music was just so good that I couldn't help but lie into it,” said Jesse Ostbaum.
