Hairstyle trends buck conformity predictability By Kathy Taylor Emerald Contributor New techniques in styling, coloring, and perming have made almost anything possi ble in hair fashion. Current style has also made almost anything possible acceptable. "Anything Is in again, from very short to long. McIntyre. The United States no longer lags behind Europe in fashion according to stylist John Muckerman. Because the world has become so small, hairstylists from all over the world attend the same shows and learn the same tech niques. He added that any dif ferences are not due to lack of techniques or knowledge but rather that the people maybe are not as daring. Muckerman added that hair cannot stand alone. "There is a whole, complete look to go after, not just hair--to make a statement. Fashion is becom ing a real element in our soci ety.
