Review by Jackie Barry They try to adopt, but Ill's weakness for the contents ol convenience store cash registers makes him look bad to the adop tion people. He'd thought his wife's job as a policewoman (she takes inmates' mug shots when they're booked into prison) would balance out his deeds, but he was wrong. After their marriage plunges from mediocrity to unbearable mediocrity, the couple decides to steal one of the quints just born to the wife of unfinished furniture mogul. Nathan Arizona. 1'hat's how they come to be "Raising Arizona." This film, which aspires toward comedy, is long on tacky and sillv (not .ill had) and short on character details and performances that would make viewers care about the two lead characters: Hi. played by Nicolas (!age. and Kd. played by Holly Hunter. As a result, these two come off as Hat as the minor characters and also are upstaged by them. The movie begins with a whirlwind introduction depic Turn to 'Arizona/ Page 10 'Secret of My Success' amusing, fast-paced comedy worth seeing “There’s no such thing as an overnight success. Brantley Foster took two weeks.” II these quotes speak the truth, and they do in this case, then maybe realism or the lack thereof is the one minor short coming in the newly released movie, “The Secret of My Suc cess.” starring Michael J. Fox (“Back To The Future”) and Helen Slater (“Supergirl"). Review by Kevin Long Fox, in his last movie, “Light Of Day,” gave a mediocre per formance in an unfamiliar, serious role. He’s hack now in hilarious, hut hard-to-believe action in this new rags-to-riches story. We find the secret of this par ticular success includes everything from bewildering bed swapping to dubious dou ble identities. And although quite amusing at times, the lack of believability (sometimes resembling a Blake Kdwards’ “Pink Panther” movie) might be seen as a drawback by some audiences.
