Jets, Raiders, Redskins sew up playoff spots From Associated Press reports The Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Raiders and New York Jets virtually sewed up playoff spots, and Denver quar terback Steve DeBerg tied a league passing record in Na tional Football League action Sunday. Mark Moseley booted field goals of 32, 30, 20 and 24 yards while lifting the Redskins to a 12-7 triumph over the St. Louis Cardinals. Jim Plunkett lobbed a 35-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Muhammad with 25 seconds left, capping a furious fourth quarter and lifting the Raiders to a 21-16 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.The Raiders moved 80 yards in seven plays after the Chiefs had soared 85 yards in seven plays to take a 16-14 lead on Billy Jackson's 1-yard touchdown plunge with 1:55 left. Freeman McNeil rushed for two touchdowns and Richard Todd passed for another to lead the Jets to a 32-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers The victory was New York's fifth straight since an opening day loss to Miami The Redskins and the Raiders also have 5-1 records, making them virtual shoo-ins for this year's expand ed 16-team playoffs DeBerg equaled a league record for consecutive pass completions in rallying the Broncos from a 21-0 deficit to a 27-24 victory over the Los Angeles Rams DeBerg completed his last 17 passes to tie the standard set by Bert Jones, then of the Baltimore Colts, in 1974 DeBerg hit on 23 of his 31 throws for 307 yards and two touchdowns.
