He said Jacob was a humanitarian but a poor businessman Former Oregon Rep Bob Duncan now practicing law in Washington, D C . said the decision saved face for both Jacob and the government "He always admitted it," said Duncan, who had testified for Jacob as a character witness "The money had been given The question was what was the motivation " Pani was the FDA's principal researcher of DMSO — short for dimethyl sulfoxide He pleaded guilty on Oct 21 to a misdemeanor charge of receiving money from Jacob The two were co-defendants in a trial that resulted in a hung jury in May Jacob consistently has maintained that his gifts to Pani were to help pay Pani s wife's medical bills and were not intended as a bribe WHEN DOES 1 + 1 =13,000?
