Golfers nab ninth in Seattle, fail to qualify at OSU meet The women's golf team opened its 1981 season with a ninth-place finish at the Univer sity of Washington’s Husky Invi tational, March 23-25, but failed to qualify the next day at the Oregon State Invitational. Oregon's team score of 1190 placed it well behind first-place UCLA, which finished with 952. Sue Schoedal was tops for the Ducks with a 278 in the 54-hole tourney. Marti Loeb fol lowed with 290. In the Oregon State meet, Loeb bowed out after 18 holes with a back injury, leaving the Ducks shorthanded and unable to qualify for the final round. The men's team placed fifth in the University of Pacific Invita tional, March 26-27.
