Gymnasts split dual meets Globetrotters brighten McArthur Court tonight Kelly Crumley won the all-around in both meets against the Arizona schools this weekend. Emerald photo The “clown princes of bas ketball,” the Harlem Globetrot ters, will alight in McArthur Court tonight at 7:30. The Trotters began their world-spanning trip in 1927 with a game in Hinckley, III. Their traveling has since expanded to 75.000 tour miles a season. Using two teams — one inter national and one North Amer ican — the Globetrotters play over 300 games a year. The in ternational team will appear in Mac Court tonight. Oregon’s gymnastics teams came home from an Arizona road trip after enjoying mixed success. The men's squad split their dual meets, beating University of Arizona but suffering an up set to Arizona State. The women also lost to the Sun Devils, but defeated Cal-Berkeley and Arizona The 12th-ranked Arizona State men's team won four of six events to nip the fourth-ranked Ducks, 272.55-270.95. Oregon’s Kelly Crumley won the all-around with a 54.55 score. Crumley also took the all around against Arizona, in ad dition to winning the pommel horse and floor exercise, as the Ducks topped the Wildcats, 272 20-263.05. The women lost to sixth ranked Arizona State in a trian gular meet with Cal. The Sun Devils scored 142.65 to Oregon’s 138.80. Maureen Nolan paced the Ducks with a third in uneven bars (8.70) and a fifth in the all-around (33.35). Sara Gustafson won three events plus the all-around to lead Oregon to a 132.30-126 90 victory over the Wildcats. MCAT • Off.
