An "intensive investigation" into the accident has been ini tiated by Dominion Construc tion and the Workers Compen sation Board of British Colum bia, said David C. Bentall, administrative assistant to the president of Dominion, the vic tims’ employer. Killed in the 365-foot fall were Yrjo "George" Mitrunen, 47; Gunther Couvreux, 50; Brian Stevenson, 21; and Don Davis, 34, all from the Vancouver area The temporary platform was part of the last major construc tion on the top floor, Bentall said. Work on the Bentall Four of fice tower was halted immedi ately after the accident. Dominion spokesmen de clined to explain how the plat form fell or provide other details of the accident. "The company can confirm there is no question regarding the structural stability of the building itself,” Dominion Pres ident R G. Bentall said. When completed, the $60 million project will have 700,000 square feet of offices, the lar gest such rental space in Van couver.
