The interns, scheduled to ar rive in Washington, D.C., on Feb 1, will spend three months serving on the staffs of members of Congress. They also will attend a series of seminars on “Understanding and Interpreting Legislative Af fairs,” conducted by Gary Se rota. Congressional Man agement Foundation director and academic adviser to the interns. The 14 students were select ed by a panel of professional journalists and educators who evaluated applicants on their academic performance, writing ability and interest in political reporting. The interns receive stipends of approximately $2,000 each.
