Wrestlers absorb first loss Oregon's eighth-ranked wrestling team suffered its first defeat of the season to powerful Cal-State Bakersfield, 20-18, Wednesday night at Bakers field. The Ducks lost the four of the first five matches of the meet and were down 20-3 before Oregon's Jeff Stuebing (167) took to the mat against Dave Johnson. The Ducks needed at least two pins and two decisions to pull out a win, which would have been their 11th consecu tive victory this season. Mor gan, a junior, won the 200-meter butterfly in 1:58.91, while Glass, also a junior, won the 100-meter freestyle in 49.04. This Saturday, the Ducks meet Oregon State in a 6 p.m. dual meet at Leighton Pool. “They'll definitely be a chal lenge,” Schleicher said of the Beavers, who are rebuilding their program after it diminished during the 70s.
