The amendments will go into effect after filing with the Office of the Secretary of State after the close of the public comment period Oct. 15. Under the proposed amend ment to the University’s rule on commercial solicitations and transactions, persons wishing to solicit door-to-door in the Amazon and Westmoreland family housing areas must com plete a request-to-solicit form at the area office each year. Solicitations will be limited to once per term. Two other amendments con cern annual setting of traffic fines and of rents for family housing. Under the proposed amendments, the fines and rents will be listed each year in the University’s “Special Fees, Fines, Penalties and Service Charges” list rather than being promulgated separately.
