et al Cuban writer to lecture An internationally acclaimed Cuban novelist and essayist, Emundo Desnoes, will speak on “Writing Under Capitalism, Writing Under Socialism” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the University. He has been editor of the literary supplement to the official Cuban newspaper “Revolucion,” was editor of “Arts and Literature” magazine and was a member of the edi torial board of “Casa de las Americas” magazine. His works include two collec tions of essays and three novels. He also wrote the screenplay “Memories of Un derdevelopment." based on one of the novels. Former professor of cultural history at the School on Industrial Design in Cuba, Des noes is presently visiting pro fessor of Latin American litera ture at Stanford University.
