Currently, he is an artist-in residence at Wesleyan University of Ohio. Tickets for Viswanathan's flute performance will be available at the door for $2 for the general pub lic and $1 for students or senior citizens. r Auditions open for plays All interested singers are invited to participate in casting auditions for the upcoming Eugene Opera! productions of Barber of Seville and Rigoletto. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at St Mary’s Epis copal Church, 166 E. 13th Ave. The company will present Gioacchino Rossini’s three act comic opera, Barber of Seville in April and Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto in June. Both produc tions will be performed in English. All roles, major, minor and chorus, are open except for the parts of Rosina and Rigoletto. New performers are especially encouraged to participate. Sin gers should prepare two contrast ing selections with at least one in English. If interested in a particu lar role it is desirable, but not re quired, that the participant pre pare music from that role. Major and minor roles will be auditioned from 7 p.m. to 830 p.m., and the chorus will be heard after 8:30 p.m. Other staff positions with Eugene Opera! are also open in cluding lighting and costume de signer and public relations staff.
