Auditions open for plays
All interested singers are invited
to participate in casting auditions
for the upcoming Eugene Opera!
productions of Barber of Seville
and Rigoletto. Auditions will be
held Monday and Tuesday, from 7
p.m. to 10 p.m. at St Mary’s Epis
copal Church, 166 E. 13th Ave.
The company will present
Gioacchino Rossini’s three act
comic opera, Barber of Seville in
April and Giuseppe Verdi’s
Rigoletto in June. Both produc
tions will be performed in English.
All roles, major, minor and
chorus, are open except for the
parts of Rosina and Rigoletto.
New performers are especially
encouraged to participate. Sin
gers should prepare two contrast
ing selections with at least one in
English. If interested in a particu
lar role it is desirable, but not re
quired, that the participant pre
pare music from that role. Major
and minor roles will be auditioned
from 7 p.m. to 830 p.m., and the
chorus will be heard after 8:30
p.m.
Other staff positions with
Eugene Opera! are also open in
cluding lighting and costume de
signer and public relations staff.
Call the opera office for ap
pointments and further informa
tion, 485-3985.
