The discussion, in the Outdoor Program Center (Rm. 23 EMU), may be followed by a slide show on river running to give people ideas on trip potentials, he said. Time for the discussion will be posted in the EMU. Clean-up story corrected In the Wednesday issue of the EMERALD, it was noted that the swim team earned $15,000 and the crew team earned $13,000 for cleaning Autzen Stadium after past football games. Tlie correct amount given for the clean ups was $1,500 and $1,300 for the respective teams. 1 COMMUNITY -\ Physician to explain new insulin Dr. David Calder, Eugene Physician, will discuss the new U-100 insulin and answer any question that may arise about it tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The discussion is sponsored by the Lane County Diabetic Association. Plight of Russian Jews topic of program The Jewish Student Union will present a program at Temple Beth Israel, 2550 Portland Street tonight to inform the community about the problems of the Russian Jews. The evenings speakers include Steven Reynolds of the University who will speak at 6:45 p.m. and Dr. Ralph Kaplan, a Foreign Affairs Analyst. Kaplan has been College Dean at Tel Aviv University, an officer in Israel’s 1948 war, a syndicated columnist for over 100 newspapers and radio stations and a Los Angeles County Com missioner. Kaplan will speak at 8 p.m. Lobby group to discuss inititive drive Common Cause, the national citizen lobby group, will hold a public meeting to obtain input from its members and the general public regarding the conflict of interest initiative begun when Gov. Tom McCall vetoed a conflict of interest legislation passed by the legislation last spring. The meeting will be held at 7:45 p.m. tonight at Harris Hall, Eighth and Oak. Valley River I Embroidered Jeans New Shipment at Clark’s Library asking for plastic ID Students checking out books from the Library’s Reserve Book Room and Main Circulation Desk will now need to have both their plastic student identification card (complete with photo) and their current term’s certificate of registration (fee card). By having both of these, all the student needs to write down to check out a book is the book’s call number and, in the Reserve Book Room, his telephone number. If students do not have their plastic student identification card complete with photo, or have lost their old one, they should apply to Emerald Hall, Room 201-A between the hours of 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
