The Eugene Guerilla Theater and the spector of death visited the Eugene Mall Thursday and sang songs of protest. The theater members marched through the mall and onto the armed forces recruiters shortly after noon. Photo bv jerrv Benterou ‘Death ’ Players picket, perform at Mall and ROTC Anti-war activities continued in Eugene Thurs day, with the spector of death and the Eugene Guerrilla Theater making an appearance on the downtown mall at noon. Death, a black robed figure who refused to give any name other than Death, stood on the mall with his corpse white mask and dramaticized the passing out of anti-war leaflets by five people continuing the vigil there. At noon, the guerrilla theater marched into the mall carrying signs promoting the rallies planned for last night and Saturday. The seven players all wore army fatigues and passed out leaflets about the demonstrations. They sang several parodies on military songs, including a rendition of the Marine’s Hymn which started: “From the bloody halls of the Pentagon, to the shores of Vietnam.’’ After singing their songs and parading around the mall fountain, the group marched down the mall The theater group then marched around the man perimeter and entered the Pacific Northwest Bell lobby and passed out leaflets in other businesses, and went to the armed forces recruiting stations at 11th and Willamette. At the recruiting stations they entered each office and distributed their leaflets and asked questions of the recruiters. One person asked a Navy recruiter how he felt each time he ordered another ship. The recruiter had no comment. The group then came to the campus area and went into th» University branch of the U.S. National Bank of Oregon. They then proceeded onto campus and sang their songs on the EMU Terrace. In other activities Thursday, a group of about 6 people picketed the Air Force ROTC building for the second consecutive day and passed out leaflets to pedestrians and passing cars. No further plans have been announced to continue the picketing. Beer bottle bomb found diffused The third molotov cocktail in two days was found near a car on Alder Street across from the Air Force ROTC building early Thursday morning by Eugene Police. An officer on patrol in the campus area spotted the small fire at 2:05 a m. Thursday. When he reached the scene, the fire had gone out, reports said. A police spokesman said the molotov cocktail was a beer bottle filled with gasoline. The wick had apparently been thrown clear of the bottle and the gasoline when it landed, according to the report. The car, owned by Kendrick Mercer, of 1774 Alder, was not seriously damaged.
