Chung said he is forming the club because “there are quite a few collectors around,” and also, “there is a stamp club downtown, but it doesn’t function quite well enough.” According to Chung, the club will meet regularly to trade stamps and also correspond with other students overseas in order to trade stamps by mail. All kinds of collectors are welcome, Chung said, from those who collect all types of stamps to those who are only “topical” collectors. Information on the club can be obtained by writing to Chung at P.O. Box 3342, campus. Chairman to receive award M. Like the first three Soledad Brothers, these seven were also known in the prison of political organizing among black inmates. The seven defendants, represented by radical Bay Area lawyer Patrick Hallinan, ap peared for arraignment Sept. 29. Chained, shackled and hand cuffed, they all enter pleas of not guilty. During the arraignment, the municipal judge denied everyone of Hallinan’s motions, including one to have their hands cuffed in front of them so that they could lean against the backs of their chairs. The seven are currently being held in the prison’s “adjustment center”—which is solitary confinement. They each get one hour of exercise a day, repeated interrogation, and have been kept from seeing their attorney save for one brief occasion.
