JOSE FELICIANO Blind performer to appear Feliciano to appear in exclusive concert Jose Feliciano, Puerto Rican guitarist-singer, is appearing in an exclusive engagement at 8 p in. Saturday at Mac Court. Tickets are on sale at the EMU and Mattox Pipe Shop. Prices are $3.50, $3.00, $2.50, $1.50. The blind pop singer leads in the number of nominations for the record academy’s Gram my Award. He has four nom inations while The Beatles, Glen Campbell, Simon and Gar funkle, O. C. Smith, Jeannine (’. Riley and Richard Harris have two or more. The results of the record academy vote will be revealed on “The Best on Record—the Grammy Show” May 5 on NBC TV. It is in contention with “Bookends” by Simon and Garfunkle, “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” by Glen Campbell, “Magical Mys tery Tour” by the Beatles, and Richard Harris’ "A Tramp Shin ing.” Feliciano’s rendition of The Door’s “Light My Fire” lias made him a nominee for Best Vocal Male. His competitors are Bobby Goldsboro and his re cording of “Iloney,” O. C. Smith for “Little Green Apples,” Mac Art hur Park” by Richard Har ris and Glen Campbell for "Wichita Lineman.” Besides “Light My Fire,” Feliciano made “Hi-heeled Sneakers” a hit in recent months. His current release is "Hey Baby.” The RCA Victor recording artist was born in Larez, Puerto Rico. He has performed in Eng land, Scandanavia, Canada, and t lie United States. He has recorded songs in Ital ian, Spanish, Portuguese and English. The 32-28 vote for the meas ure on repassage came after t lie House had accepted all of the changes that the Senate made in the four-bill package. In the House’s first vote 10 days ago, the count also was 32-28. Since then, Rep. Connie Me Cready, R-Portland, switched from no to yes and Rep. Mor ris Crothers, R-Salem, switch ed from yes to no. The House had to vote again because of the Senate changes. It voted 36-24 for the bill to put the sales tax money into property tax relief and 39-21 for the bill setting up the spe cial election. KWAX broadcasts Albee speech Edward Albee’s speech of Feb. 13 will be rebroadcast over KWAX-FM (91.1) tonight begin ning at 6 p.m. Numerous re quests for rebroadcast of the noted playwrite’s speech pour ed into KWAX after it was air ed Monday evening, according to station manager Don God frey.
