Returned Peace Corps Trio to Sponsor Films Married students and Eugene residents should be especially in terested in the arrival of three Peace Corps representatives who will visit the University campus next week. The recruiters are Chris and Kay Byers, a husband awl-wife team who have done community development work in Chimbote and Lima, Peru, for the past two years, and former ASUO vice president Jim Clou tier, who has served in Kenya with the Kenya Department of Settlement. The trio will be stationed on the Student Union Terrace every day next week, April 24 28 They will be sponsoring a Peace Corps film, "One Step at a Time," to be shown Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. In addition, Cloutier and mem bers of the local Peace Corps Ac tion Committee, a group of lo cal returned volunteers, will be presenting slide shows they took themselves in their host coun Friends Plan For Home Tour A special exhibition of photo graphs, floor plans, garden plans, interior plans, and scale models ot the homes featured in the Ar chitectural Home Tour will open at the University Museum of Art today, from 1-5 p m The purpose of the display is to stimulate interest in the Home Tour, plunncd for Sunday, May 7, by the Friends of the Museum The Women's Architectural League is assisting with the tour. Maps for the May 7 tour will be provided for all those driving their own cars. The tour lasts ap proximately three hours, and par ticipants arc advised to wear walking shoes which can be trans ferrcd to slippers at the door of each house toured. An open house will he held at the Museum of Art from 1-G p.m on the day of the tour to enable participants to meet the homeowners, architects, landscape architects, and interior designers Cost of tickets for the tour will be $5 per couple, S3.50 for a single admission, and $2 per stu dent. They will be available at Heed and Cross, Bon Marche, Kaufman's in Springfield, Lloyd Home Trends and the Museum of Art. An additional $1 will be charg ed for each ticket-holder wanting to travel by bus, available to a limited number on a first come basis. Buses will be loading at 14th and Kincaid University park ing lot at 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 p.m The proceeds from the ticket sales will go toward the expan sion of statewide services pro vided by the Friends of the Mu seum. Hawaiian Club Sponsors Luau A Hawaiian luau will be held at the Lane County Fairgrounds beginning at 6:30 p.m. on April 29. The feast and Polynesian en tertainment is sponsored by the University Hawaiian Club. The entertainment portion begins at 8 p.m. The theme of the event is “Somewhere in Hawaii.” Tickets can be bought prior to the per formance. They are on sale at Bronson’s Travel Agency, Mad dox Pipe Shop, and the SU Main Desk. Applications will be ' accepted for assignments start ing this summer. ASUO Petitions Candidates' petitions for ' ASUO offices are now avail able in room 301 in the Stu dent Union. The petitions are due by 4:30 p.m. today. Major offices to be filled are the ASUO president and vice president. Eighteen Senate posi tions, and presidents and vice presidents for the senior. Jun ior, and sophomore classes will also be elected. Campaigns begin Saturday and not before. All candidates are urged to use the Voters Guide Copy.
