UT, Playhouse Tickets on Sale "The Virgin of Treadmill Street,” an original script by David Neal Ireland, is scheduled to open at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Pocket Playhouse. Tickets for the play, which will run through Saturday, go on sale at noon today at the University Theatre box office. Tickets are priced at $1 for adults and 50 cents for students. "The Children's Hour,” a play by Lillian Heilman, will open on the University Theatre main stage Friday and run May 21. 22, 26. 27, and 28. Tickets priced at SI.50 are now on sale at the Theatre box office. "The Virgin of Treadmill Street” is being directed by Alex ander Duncan and is being pre sented in conjunction with the seminar. “Problems in Producing the New Play.” As well as playing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. “The Virgin of Treadmill Street” will be presented at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Playhouse, on the first floor of Villard Hall. The cast includes Lynn Simp son, Joe Baker, Heather Duncan, and Tom Bird. “The Children’s Hour” is "a mature problem play,” according to Theatre Director Horace W. Robinson, noting that the title might be misleading. Leading roles are being played by Patricia Larson, Barbara Cratas. and Karen Hurley. Organization to Market Campus-Written Papers A service for evaluating a n d marketing college research pa pers, called the Research Writ ers' Bureau Ltd., was established in the New York area recently in response to widespread demand from publishers for articles on academic subjects. The firm is reported to be the first organization of its kind to concentrate its efforts entirely on selling campus-written material. According to Richard Fennelly, director of the literary agency, there are thousands upon thou \ sands of periodicals, ranging from I the smallest journals to some of | the largest '‘slick” magazines, which need well-researched stu I dent manuscripts. He reports that ; some of these pay up to 10 cents per word for this material. "Academic journals are usually the first and too often the last place students consider as an out let for their work,” Fennelly said. “This is lamentable because there are numerous semi-popular maga zines which pay decent money for research writing. They cover a wide field of interest, including science, religion, history, medi cine, and business." Virtually every area of college study has some representation in this type of periodical, according to the firm’s director. The new agency, which does not return manuscripts unless first queried with a description of the paper, is located at 95-31 104 St., Ozone Park, N Y. 11416 T V.
