Faculty Concert Scheduled Toniaht A faculty program of American instrumental solo and chamber music from the middle 201h cen tury will be presented today. The program, a feature of the four-day annual Symposium on Contemporary Band and Wind In strument Music sponsored by the University School of Music, will be in the auditorium of the Music School at 8 pm. It is open to the public. Opening the concert will be “Four Scenes for Piano" by Law rence Moss, with William Woods, assistant professor of music, per forming. PAUL EARLS' "Colloquy for C h a m b e r Fmsemble” will be played by Karlin Rhees, flute; Robert Cunningham, oboe; Rob ert Vagner, clarinet; Vondis Mil ler, trumpet; and Robert Hlad ky, cello Earls is a new member of the Music School faculty. Homer Keller at the piano and a percussion trio of Wayne Mer cer, Jerry t.reen, and Dan Nel son will perform John Cage's "Amores for prepared piano and percussion.” Keller's composition. "Quartet for Brass Instruments." will be performed by Alan Nyegaard and Vondis Miller, trumpets, and Ira I.ee, trombone, and Scott Philips, horn. JOHN HAMILTON will present Lou Harrison's "Three Sonatas for Harpsichord.” Concluding number of the pro gram will be Leon Kirchner’s "Trio in Two Movements.” This will be performed by Lawrence Letters... Psych TV Show To Be Run Again The number 12 TV program of November 5 for Psychology 201 will be rebroadcast at noon today. Graduate Students Given Fellowships Two fellowships to University graduate students have been re newed for the second year by the U S Department of Health, Edu cation, and Welfare. The $2,500 fellowships have been received by Stanley E. Brown, a candidate for a doctoral degree in education, and Ralph K. Leeder, who is doing post master’s degree work. Both are studying in the field of mental retardation. THE HEW fellowships were es tablished to stimulate advanced education for administrators of special education programs for the mentally retarded in the pub lic schools. Each fellowship is awarded to the state department of educa tion of the recipient's home state and then passed on to the educa tional institution of the student's choice. The present fellowships came to the University through the Oregon and Nebraska depart ments of education. Sophomore Honorary Adds to Membership New members of Skull and Dagger are Steve Lee, Steve Jamison, Mike Estey, Bruce Bab bit and Tom Tongue. Skull and Dagger, a sophomore men’s honorary, has eighteen ac tive members. Qualifications are leadership, good character, schol arship and service to the Univer sity. The State Department of Edu cation released figures indicating a total fall enrollment of 9,842 This is 2,705 over enrollment last fall. There are 6,832 students in the category combining vocational ex tension (evening) classes and gen eral education The college trans fer category accounts for 945 stu dents, and vocational-technical 2, 065. These figures are based on the enrollments of nine institutions classed as community colleges or vocational-technical schools The schools include: Eugene Technical-Vocational; Blue Moun tain Community College, Pendle ton; Central Oregon College, Bend; and Clatsop County Com munity College, Astoria. Oregon City Vocational-Tech nical School; Portland Commu nity College; Salem Technical-Vo cational School; Southwestern Oregon Community C o 1 lege, North Bend and Coos Bay; and Treasure Valley Community Col lege, Ontario, complete the list.
