Fleming then pointed out that the requirement will not uncover any such persons, since “Such persons have no scruples about signing such an affidavit and taking such an oath.” His final point is that “The in clusion of this requirement singles out educators and students for special treatment without making a contribution to national safety.” Senate recommends that Review continue ASUO Senate approved a re port on the Northwest Review Thursday night which recom mended that the Review continue to be published because of its “considerable quality.” Submitted by Steve Hintz, sen ator-at-large, the report was drawn up by a committee of Mike Hollister, Jim Lynch, Margaret Reedy, and faculty members John Hulteng, associate professor of journalism; E. R. Bingham, asso ciate professor of English, and Sylvan Karchmer, chairman of the Student Publications Board. The Review was commended for its considerable advancement toward filling a "cultural void” in the Northwest since its estab lishment three years ago and for its good reputation in literary circles. Passed unanimously, the report recommended that the Review strive to include more student work and more work oriented to the Northwest area.
