Dean Lindhoim makes tax study A tax study athored by Dean Richard W. Lindhoim of the School of Business Administra tion will Is- used in a reconsidera tion of the Michigan state tax system. Lindholm's study of business taxes in Michigan is included in papers prepared by tax experts of our Michigan universities. His findings Indicate a need to guard against increasing taxes on highly profitable business con cerns and to “go easy” in taxing newly-started businesses, thus giving the latter time to build-up needed capital. Job opportunities Bethlehem Pacific Coast Steel Corporation will interview inter ested applicants Jan. 27. Jobs available are located on the west coast. Majors desired are Busi ness Administration, Industrial Relations, Sales, Accounting, Journalism, and Public Relations at any degree level. The Oregon State Civil Service Commission will interview inter ested applicants for state po sitions on Jan. 28. Jobs are avail able in Portland, Salem and throughout the state. All majors are desired since openings are available in many departments. Married students plan dance at SU The married students commit tee of the SU has announced plans for their first dance of the year. The dance will be held Feb. 7 in the SU Ballroom from fl to 12. Gary Geertsen and his Star busters, a six-piece band, will provide the music. The band fea tures Carlyn Compton as vocalist. Refreshments and entertain ment are scheduled for the inter mission. Working on the plans and preparations for the dance are: Dick Davis, chairman; Rich Bowlby, Frank Gallas, and Bob Boyles, publicity; Anne Geertsen. Dick and Martha Firman, re freshments; George Trahern, en tertainment; Florence Guimary, Avis and Jon Dowers, Alan Tay lor, and Jerry Gates, decorations.
