(explanation Head For Thursday night's meeting, a letter of explanation was read from Coach Belko, who could not attend because of a previous speaking engagement; and fur ther clarifications were marie by Art Litchman, Athletic publicity director. Litchman presented figures in dicating the actual playing time recorded for Otis Davis, Paul Tuehardt, George Padovan and Jerry Anderson as compared to the 140 minutes required for let ters, and noted that the Senate has power to pass or veto letter nominees, and not to recommend players for letters. After a discussion of com parative playing times for the four, Brittingham "dropped his case" for Davis, Tuehardt and Padovan, and moved that Jerry Anderson be recommended for a letter, and that the Senate not approve the Athletic Department list until Anderson's name had been added to the list. This mo tion failed. Brittingham then moved that the Senate recommend to Belko that Anderson's name be added to the letter list. The motion was called out of order, for being in meaning a repetition of the first. Following this, Bud Titus’ mo tion that the original list be ac cepted was passed.
