She was named by a non-student committee. Runner-up* for the honor were Kaye Tomlinson and Kathy Cook, second and third place, respec tively. Joan, a transfer this year from a California junior college, is a junior majoring in sociology. She is an Alpha Chi Omega and comes from Albany. California. Appearing before selections committee members Mitts Mar garet Mueller, assistant professor of home economics; Mrs. Bessie Campbell, fashion co-ordinator of The Bon Marche; and Douglas Brinkman, promotions head of , Russell’s, Joan wore a black-and white salt and pepper tweed skirt and a black three-quarter length sleeve cardigan.
