The tea idea began about seven years ago when AWS, upon dis covering the plight of a needy Cottage Grove family, held a tea in Gerlinger hall, during which Oregon sororitlea donated Christ mas gifts for the family. Since the first tea. AWS Christ mas teas have been held at differ ent sorority houses, and both so rorities and fraternities have do nated gift boxes of toys and food.
