-Emerald Staff Sets Picnic Date Staffers Urged to Register Now witn sunny summer weather, cool waters and fine post-Junior Weekend weather predicted, the planners of the 29th annual Emer ald picnic are now making prepara tions for the gala event, according to chairmen. Sunday, May 16, has chairmen. Sunday, May 16, has been set for the gathering of 'the inkslingers, and the party will meet at the shack; eventually to jolt out toward Fiji Meadows. The head tax has not yet been set, pending purchase of the re freshments and total count of par ticipants, but the individual assess ment will not be over 75 cents, it was pointed out. All Emerald work ers, including night staff, news side, and hucksters, are asked to sign up on the list on the Emerald Tired of the Rain? The trainers will choose teams at the picnic to insure that no secret practices will be held before the contest. Eligibil ity slips for players may be ob tained from the dean of men. The chairmen, who are directing plans from beneath typewriters at the shack, have asked that all Em erald workers sign up immediate ly to facilitate the purchase of the right amounts of food. The menu has not been announced as yet, but all the food will be edible, it was announced yesterday.
