NationalOfficer To Visit Chapter Of Mu Phi Here Eva Commin Case, national presi dent of Mu Phi Epsilon, women’s national music honorary, will ar rive on a tour of Mu Phi chapters in the Pacific provinces. The local Mu Phi chapter will play host to Mrs. Case during her two-day visit. Monday evening she will attend inspection and a business meeting of the group. After a luncheon Tuesday at the home of Mary Kapp Allton, she will view a model pledg inging ceremony, the initiation of Shirley Gay Williams, sophomore in music, and a musical program with the following numbers: Banquet Planned Bach’s Italian Concerto played by Lucretia Prentiss, sophomore; Recitative and Polacca from von Weber’s Clarinet Concerto per formed by Margaret Holm, senior; and the Waltz Song from Gounod’s j Romeo and Juliet sung by Mary Margaret Dundore, junior. A banquet will be held in the na tional president’s honor Tuesday evening. Wednesday she will be en tertained by the alumnae and pa troness organizations of Mu Phi Epsilon. Mrs. Case earned her bachelor of arts, bachelor of music and master of music degrees in Oberlin college and the University of Michigan. She did post-graduate work in pi ano with Artur Schnabel in Italy and New York. Former Concertizer j At present she is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, music honor so ciety, and is an assistant professor of piano at the University of Michi gan. She has done extensive concert izing in the midwest, has been so loist with orchestras and accom panist in recitals for Frederick Ja gel and Enid Szantho of the Met ropolitan Opera company. Teacher Placinq Starts Prospective teachers interested in positions for mid-year and next fall are asked to meet at 4 p.m. to day in room 4, education building, C. L. Huffaker, director of the teacher placement service, an nounced. Those interested are asked to en roll and file their records with the teacher placement service before Christmas vacation. “Oregon" is an Indian term meaning peaceful valley. Business Talks To Help Women “The Future of Women in Busi ness” will be the theme of a con ference sponsored by Phi Chi The ta, women’s business honorary, on January 30. A question box on “Problems Facing Women in Business” and a lecture-discussion of social service will be conducted in alumni hall, Gerlinger. Another discussion on phases and aspects of merchandis ing will be held in Commerce hall. Rounding out the conference will be a luncheon at the Anchorage cafe and an informal tea at alumni | hall.
