Co-op Tips NCC Mosby Sets Pace Lead by the 18-point tallying of Captain Jerry Mosby, Campbell Club topped Northwest Christian college 44-42, in a fast tussle Tuesday night in the NCC gym. After trailing at the end of the first quarter 8-2, NCC, aided by a couple of their regulars, D. By ers and Smith, began hitting the net and rolled to a 18-1'/ lead at halftime. In the third quarter, NCC maintained their rally to roll up an 8-point lead. However, in the final quarter, the Campbell squad put on a rally that knotted the score at 42-42 in the final minute of play. Fifteen seconds before the final gun, By ers, Campbell center, sank the winning tally from the corner. High scorer for Campbell was Mosby, with 18. Robson and Bey ers followed in close support, 12 and 10 points, respectively. Don Beyers was high scorer for NCC, registering 13 counters. The theme of the dance will be “Spring Fever," and short silks, suits, and sport coats are in order. This dance is a date af fair and no corsages are to toe worn. Tickets will be $1.20 per couple; the time and place for obtaining them will be announced later. Committee heads for the dance are: Don Taylor and Art McNam ara, publicity; Bud Clark, music: Gaylord Rose, decorations; and Clifford Brooks, refreshments. Browsing Room Concert To Feature Brahms Rosemary Loder will be hostess Sunday, February 21, in the Browsing room at the library, when records from Pat Metcalf's collection will be presented at 4. The records included are: Symphony No. 1 in C Minor by Brahms and Piano Concerto in E Flat (Selections! by Chopin. A. L. Soderwall Speaks Dr. A. L. Soderwall, assistant professor of zoology, will speak on “Some Quantitative Studies on Hormones,” at the next meeting of the Biology Seminar. Accounting Honorary Initiates New Members The Beta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, accounting honorary frater- • nity, held an initiation ceremony Tuesday at the Osburn hotel with Elmer Olson, president, presiding. Those initiated were Charles Fra- j zier, Leroy Hewitt, Ted Kent, and i Ernest Murphy, business adminis- i tration majors, and Percy Brown, I C.P.A., Eugene. After the initiation the members ! attended ^ banquet honoring the I new members. Speakers for the j evening were A. B. Stillman and C. L. Kelly, professors in business administration. 'Life' Photo Exhibit AtLibe Next Week An exhibition on “Photograph ing Science” prepared by LIFE photographer Fritz Goro, and made possible by the editors of LIFE magazine, will be shown in the library on the second floor begin ning Monday, February 25, and continuing through March 1. The photographs are enlarged and mounted on panels of 26” by j 38” and portray Important scien tific work. Of the eighteen photo graphs to be used, scientific phe nomena shown will inelude mi crowaves, electronics, penicillin, lithium crystals, coated lenses, al ternating current, and atomic en ergy. Explanatory captions will explain each panel. An experienced cameraman, Mr. Goro has made these photographs with specially built equipment. Considering the two dimensional effect of micro-photography, he has created what he identifies as “Macro-photography.” This is de signed to take “tiny objects below the point of vision and photograph them in their environment.” A pioneer in photographing science, Mr. Goro made a first photograph of an atom splitting in 1939. This picture will be included in the ex hibit.
