An exhibition on “Photograph
ing Science” prepared by LIFE
photographer Fritz Goro, and made
possible by the editors of LIFE
magazine, will be shown in the
library on the second floor begin
ning Monday, February 25, and
continuing through March 1.
The photographs are enlarged
and mounted on panels of 26” by j
38” and portray Important scien
tific work. Of the eighteen photo
graphs to be used, scientific phe
nomena shown will inelude mi
crowaves, electronics, penicillin,
lithium crystals, coated lenses, al

explain each panel.
An experienced cameraman, Mr.
Goro has made these photographs
with specially built equipment.
Considering the two dimensional
effect of micro-photography, he
has created what he identifies as
“Macro-photography.” This is de
signed to take “tiny objects below
the point of vision and photograph
them in their environment.” A
pioneer in photographing science,
Mr. Goro made a first photograph
of an atom splitting in 1939. This
