TO BUILD CLUB HOUSE Take Lease On Land Above Head Gates—Will Hold Canoe Carnival. The Canoe Club held an important business meeting Wednesday after noon at four o’clock, in Dr. Schmidt’s room, at which several points of me terial interest were discussed by the club. The members present voted to lease a section of land situated just above the headgates, on the shore across from the University. During the spring vacation, a canoe boat house will be constructed by a few of the most enthusiastic masculine members of the club, under the lead ership of Ralph Moores. The club also definitely decided to investigate and carry through a “Ca noe Carnival,” consisting of aquatic sports of all kinds, and pageants by night, which will be one of the main events during Junior Week End. Harold Young was appointed chair man of the carnival committee, and will immediately begin the formation of his plans for it. The membership committee, Ralph Newlands, Anne McMicken and Elea nor McClain, were instructed to no tify the students who have been elect ed to membership in the club and also to arrange for a rollicking mill race picnic, which will be given by the club, including the new members, some evening of the first week after vacation.
