ENJOY WEEK Mountains, Coast, and Country, Lure Faculty in Many Directions During Vacation. Judging from the number of the faculty that have betaken themselves to less intellectual atmospheres, the students must not be the only ones who relish a rest now and then. The mountains, the sea shore, and the country, all claim a share of our teaching force. Some will lead the simple life, others will turn farmers. Dr. Stuart, Miss Perkins, and Miss Thompson, left Friday for Newport to spend the week, while Dr. McAlis ter, with his son, left Saturday morn ing for Blue River, to plant potatoes on his farm. Dr. Conklin, when “interviewed,” said he was just so independent, that he could not decide between Newport and Calapooya Spring, but that the odds were in favor of the former. Mr. Kempthorne and Prof. Koehler “hiked” to Calapooya Springs, where Dr. Gilbert and wife will also spend the week. Miss Emma Waterman and Miss Bonisteel, of the Tri Delt House, will rusticate at the same place. Prof. Young will spend his time cul tivating his sixty acre orchard near Eugene, while Mr. Johnson will at tempt to lure some of the “finny” tribe from the Mohawk. Profs. Dearborn and Converse have gone to Portland with a crowd of en gineers on a tour of inspection, while Prof. Rebec will spend his vacation at his home near Medford. Pres. Campbell will leave during the early part of the week for the Uni versity of California, to attend an educational meeting. Dr. Clark, Prof. Stafford, Prof. Cloran and Prof. Schmidt will tarry in town during the week. When R. A. Brown, ’98, “comes to town, the boys they don’t kick his dog aroun’.” Mr. Brown is an honest, successful rancher, even if he does reside at Youngs, Crook county, Ore. Howard Davis, ’98, resides at Mc Minnville, Ore. Tuttle’s Studio Patterson and 13th Streets. Our pictures are strong, soft and round. We guarantee to please you. Prices are reasonable.
