var W DEAR ABBY: You liave no idea how much courage It takes to write this, but I have to tell somebody. I have, probably, one of the beet husbands on earth. We've been married 23 years and have three children of whom we are very proud. We have a home in the suburbs. My husband is an average wage-earner. We have two cars. We neither smoke nor drink nor spend foolishly. I've always let my husband be tnc head of the family. He is lov ing and good, but a strict dis ciplinarian with the children. He has always been a little on the jealous side, so not wishing to provoke him, 1 have never gone in for any outside activi ties. No volunteer work. Not even a PTA meeting without him. I once read that a cake decorating class was starting and I said I'd like to go. He was so violently opposed that I never mentioned it again. The only people we see are his busi ness friends and their wives. I am a friendly person and not unattractive. Now, the problem: Lst year, while grocery shop-; ping, I became incnfliy wun a widower (neighbor) and I soon looked forward to "running Into him" at the store. He asked to buy my coffee, once, then again and before long it was a stand inir date. I hale to admit it but this was the high point of my day. We did nothing wrong, even though I know how much I could care for this charming man if I let myself. I know he feels the same for me. I would never do anything to hurt my family. But I can see how a respectable married woman can "fall in love" with another man. If this could happen to me, it could happen to anyone, I keep, asking myself, why? FIGHTING IT DEAR "FIGHTING IT:" Keep fighting It. Couples don't "fall" in love. They walk Into It with their eyes wide open. Mutual Interest must be cultivated to become love. Then finally all reason Is drained away and the CAN APPLY, 3UT. . . BONN (UPD East Germans who lost their property when they fled to the West can apply for compensation, the West Ger man Kctugco Ministry an nounced today. ' But it won't do thom any good, the ministry added, be cause no such compensation will be paid. When a husband first shows signs of unreasonable possessivenets, he should be straightened out not yielded to. Whet does It profit woman to preserve peace if she loses the marriage? DEAR ABBY: My mother re cently bought my husband and me a vase for our wedding an-j niversary. It cost ner aw ana the thing is hideous. It is the, wrong shape, color and size for; our home. My husband is an, interior decorator and he says we can't possibly use it. Wei can't stash it in the attic be cause if mother doesn't see it around, she'll be hurt. The rest of our home is furnished in im oeccable taste. What can we do? My husband has kiddinglyj suggested "accidentally break ing it. STUCK DEAR STUCK: Keep the vase out where your mother can see it. If the rest of your home Is furnished In "impeccable" taste, one vase won't matter. East made his ' best play of a diamond and the jack, king and ace were played. A trump lead from dummy forced West to make his third discard. He had already jetti soned a club and a diamond and now he discarded his last low club. He still held the 13th spade as an out card, but Dr. D. took care of that by play ing his own last trump. West could not afford to unguard the ten of diamonds or throw the ace of clubs so that spade had to go. Now the end play was ready. A club lead put West in and he had to lead away from his ten of diamonds. Learn the Jacoby system with your copy of "Win at Bridge With Oswald Jacoby."
